Marvel Negotiating With New Writer for Iron Man 2

Say it ain’t so, Marvel! Word on the street is that Marvel is ditching the team of writers (Mark Fergus, Hawk Ostby, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway) responsible for Iron Man in favor of rookie writer/director Justin Theroux for its sequel. This comes as a surprise for most of us, with Iron Man being as popular as it is. Marvel found the formula for success and now they’re changing the variables around; for better or for worse is yet to be seen.

Nevertheless, Marvel is in final negotiations with Theroux who has writing credit on the upcoming Tropic Thunder. He made his directoral debut with last year’s Dedication, which nobody saw and nobody really liked. But he has a ton of acting credits (most supporting roles), so maybe hidden in all of that, uh, acting “talent”, he has some writing talent as well.
